The purpose of the Liturgy Commission is to assist in the planning and implementation of good liturgy, liturgical renewal, and growth of prayer-life in the parish. The liturgy is the climax of the Church’s activities and the basic source of its power. With Jesus, the parish celebrates the realities of our Catholic faith through the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. It is in liturgy that we celebrate who we are and what we believe as a Catholic Christian community. This celebration must lead into life that is lived. The parish must strive to live as a community, which is the Body of Christ, the sign of his presence in the world. The importance of the work of the Liturgy Commission should be understood in this light.
